In late 2006, the choir director of the freshmen men's choir at Neuqua Valley High School held auditions to form a small ensemble. This ensemble would perform at the Masterworks Concert in January (2007). Nine men were selected and divided into TTBB sections. The ensemble preformed "I Want To Be Ready" from A Spiritual Medley by Michael Richardson. The choir director suggested that they should continue on as an ensemble and participate in Solo and Ensemble. There, the ensemble sang Vive L'Amour. Along they way, the name 3x3 was formed (three multiplied by three equals nine; the ensemble consists of nine men), and they now sing at sporting events, restaurants, and still at school in their choir concerts.
